Did the Framers Quit?

This morning I finally started to feel better about our framing situation. A call from my PM had me pretty hopeful. Well today was a gorgeous sunny day. My husband and I figured that the framers could have made so much progress today. Boy were we wrong. It's obvious that they didn't even show up at all. I'm back to feeling disappointed and annoyed.

I wasn't even going to go out there today. My husband said we should and he offered to drive. Looks like we should have stayed away. We did check up on our friends' house. They have their whole first floor framed and part of their second! I'm so excited for them! I'm a little annoyed though since we broke ground a week before they did. I am happy that they are progressing so much.

  3. That is crappy, but maybe your PM was trying to tell you that nothing would be done today and instead they would start tomorrow? If they have a crew out there, they should make some incredible progress. I'm really hoping that by this weekend you have a whole house!!!!!!

  4. He didn't tell us they wouldn't be there today. In order for them to put the walls up tomorrow, I assumed they would be laying the subfloor today. Oh well. It will happen eventually.

  5. How frustrating! Hopefully they will be out tomorrow and in full force. It is amazing what they can accomplish in a short time. I can't imagine how difficult it is to go to your lot only to find out that nothing has been done. Hope things look up soon!

  7. Aww, I'm sorry it's going so slow...how frustrating to see all materials there, and no progress. On the glass-half-full-side of things, we are ALL excited and waiting on the edge of our seats to see pictures of your framed house!!

  8. Sorry to hear about the lack of progress on your home reminds me of the doom and gloom that my wife and I felt when we were having all those lot issues. Before you know it framing will be complete. I know that our PM told us last week that sometimes schedules get backed up especially during the first few weeks....Hang in there all will be better soon

  9. building a house reminds me of Artillery; long periods of waiting interrupted by moments of excitement.
Don't let the "waiting" tarnish those moments of "excitement".
