We have a door!

I didn't say it was installed ;)

Just imagine it painted black! "I see a [white] door and I want to paint it black!"

Here are some more goodies:

I wonder what the smashed box is?

That's my garden tub!!

Remember in my last post how I mentioned a pipe that I was pretty sure was in the wrong place? I posted an update from my PM who said that everything was ok and that it was in the right place... Well I'm pretty sure he had if moved closer to the wall after all. It's hard to tell. What do you think? Was it moved? Here is a "before" picture and two "after" pictures.

Framing should start next week! I don't know what they are doing tomorrow or Friday but the PM said framing should be next week. It's supposed to rain this weekend. I hope that it holds off! I don't want my goodies getting rained on and then sitting in mud!

  1. Can some techie out there tell me why whenever I try to click on the video it says: "Embedding disabled by request"?

    1. Yeah, the person who posted the video on YouTube disabled the embedding option for the video for some reason. There are a few videos for "Paint it Black" you could try out.

I don't have any of my lumber (or door) delivered yet so it looks like you are still ahead of me ;-)

    2. Thanks! After my fourth try, I finally found one that worked!

  2. Definitly closer to the corner now. You can really tell from the overhead shot. About a foot closer to wall and closer to corner a good 8" also. Glad he came through for you.

  3. Oh-that appears to have been moved for sure! I bet he looked at it and realized you were right. :0)

  4. Yes, it was definitely moved! We were suppose to break ground today, but it was delayed due to the weather forecast, but it never rained!

  5. SO Exciting!! I really love seeing all the supplies.. House is going up in 3..2..1..

  6. Yes! Let the excitement begin! My stuff was out in the rain for a little bit but only the outside lumber seems to be affected. It got a little moldy. They will spray it and once it's dried out the fungus will not grow so long as it stays dry. They are giving us a dehumidifier to help with this while the lumbar dries out the first year.

    1. That is good that they are doing those things and letting you use the dehumidifier for a year.

    2. RH isn't giving us a dehumidifier but they said they recommend every home buyer purchase one and run it for a year since the basement walls are poured. They told us to just hook it up to our dehumidifier.

  8. They have only done the plumbing so far. Not exciting enough to blog about, lol. The framers are working in another community so we have been waiting for them to finish up because we're next! Framing should start tomorrow and I will definitely post some pictures!

  9. Ugh what a bummer! They are starting framing on ours next week. They filled in dirt this week and brought in some brick. Can't wait for framing, though!!!

    1. Now it's raining and there's a 90% chance of rain tomorrow. Looks like we will be waiting longer =(

    2. The only thing worse than the initial wait is the final wait. I remember being so anxious for them to start, and now I am twice as anxious for the last few days.

    3. Ugh, I'm so sorry about the delay!!! You were a week ahead of us and now it looks like we're at about the same place.

Mike, I can only imagine how badly you're itching to close! Your house looks so stunning!!! Our brick is very similar to yours and we chose black shutters and door, so when I see your house I get a really good idea for how ours will look. I just love it!
