Appliance and Furniture Purchases! Great Deals!

We close on our house two weeks from tomorrow so I have been doing a ton of research recently on appliances. I already knew that I wanted the LG front-load washer and dryer and a GE Profile refrigerator to match the rest of my kitchen appliances. I've been looking around at different stores to find the best price. We got an even better deal than we ever expected and had a great salesperson. Most of you may not know it, but stores will price-match other stores and sometimes they will even take 10% off the price from the other store to encourage you to buy from them.

We went to HHGregg because they had the fancy new fridge I wanted for several hundred dollars less than everywhere else. This fridge is normally $2999.99 but is on sale at Best Buy and Home Depot for $2699. HHGregg has it on sale right now for $2429.18 and even though it doesn't usually apply to such a great sale, they gave us the 10% military discount too! So we got a $3000 fridge for $2186.26!!! It's super fancy and has an LCD screen with some pretty cool features! I wasn't seeking out a fridge with an LCD screen because I'm pretty sure I don't need it but the cost of this fridge was about the same as the one without it. I also love that the ice-maker is on the inside of the door so it doesn't take up valued fridge space. I've been dreaming about owning a french-door refrigerator for as long as I can remember and that dream is coming true! Here's it is!

Model # PFE29PSDSS
I'm in love!
The side of the fridge is gray, in case you were curious.

I love how there are shelves on the inside of both doors even though the ice maker is on the left side!

The washer and dryer we purchased are normally $1200 a piece. HHGregg is having a great sale on them and after our military discount, they were only $854.33 a piece! Because they were such a great price, we decided to get the pedestals too! I was going to have my hubby build me a fancy pedestal that holds laundry baskets in it to save us some money but I really wanted the ones that match the washer and dryer and he really didn't want to build me one! So we both win! They are normally $250 a piece and HHGregg gave them to us for $189.99 a piece! That's still a lot for a pedestal, I realize that, but that's what you pay for convenience, I guess! Here they are:

The brand is LG and the color is called Graphite Steel. Model # WM3470HVA & DLEX3470V
This was the only picture I could find of them together!
We had a really great experience at HHGregg today. Not only did they give us such a great deal on all three appliances, but they also took 20% of the cost of the service plans for each one. The washer and fridge both have a $50 mail-in rebate as well so that's another $100 of savings! HHGregg normally only offers 12 months financing but we told them we needed at least 24 since we are buying so much for our new house. Our salesperson asked his manager and he said it was no problem! They were both so professional and thanked my husband for his service. I seriously recommend this store to any of you who are still shopping around for appliances. If you live in the Columbus area, our salesperson was Justin Coffman at the Easton location - he told me to put his name in my blog :) He is super knowledgeable. He knows everything there is about the fridge and washer and dryer we purchased.

Ashley Furniture is just across the street from HHGregg so we decided to go in there and look around. I picked out the morning room set I wanted a long time ago but I like to check-in from time to time to make sure they still have it and to see if it's on sale. We weren't going to buy it today but it was the cheapest I have seen it in the past 4 months. We bought a table with a leaf in it that seats eight since our morning room is over 19ft long. We bought all eight chairs, the matching buffet, and two matching bar stools for our kitchen island.

The table and chairs.

We only purchased the bottom half of the buffet. I want to hang a picture or a mirror above it. It looks so much prettier in person. It's darker. This picture doesn't do it justice at all!

Both together

We bought eight of these dining chairs
We bought two bar stools for the gourmet island

La-Z-Boy called us yesterday to tell us that our furniture and artwork are ready for delivery! Perfect timing! You can read my blog entry about that furniture HERE. We also have our eye on a set for our formal dining room but that will have to wait! I blogged about it a while back. You can find that entry HEREWe are just spending so much money right now and we still have to purchase 6 ceiling fans, a backup for our sump pump, a dehumidifier.....the list goes on and on! Whoever knew that buying a new house was so expensive? ;)

We close on our house on Monday, August 6th. We get the keys on Tuesday August 7th. We have our La-Z-Boy furniture, Ashley furniture, and appliances from HHGregg all scheduled to be delivered on Saturday, August 11th. That's going to be a crazy busy day!

  2. I have fridge envy! We have a french door model and I love that, but the ice maker is in the top drawer of the freezer which takes up valuable freezer room. Plus it keeps knocking ice off the shelf and I have to take a broom to it to get it all out! lol

I like the furniture too, I'll have to find an Ashley furniture store near me and check out what else they have. You know, when I actually have a new house to put it in! :D

    1. I'm obsessed with Ashley Furniture! The only reason we didn't get our family room set there is because I liked being able to choose from over 1100 fabrics at La-Z-Boy. ALL of our other furniture is from Ashley. They are always having great sales and they have great financing offers too. You can get 0% for 12 months with no money down or you can get 0% for 50 months if you put 25% down! I should work there..... I'm always trying to sell people on it, lol!!

  3. These are some Amazing deals! A word of caution. I too went to HHgregg because of a good deal, bought a fridge and washer dryer..
They never came.. never got a call, only when I called and tracked down my purchases.. it was "Oh sorry, we are out of stock on those items, some in and look at another set" I'll spare you the rest of the story.. I hope you get your stuff! I really hate getting the bait and switch.. it wasn't the first time it happened to me there.

    1. Yikes! If they try and pull that with me, I will just take my money elsewhere! I'm sure it won't be a problem though. They assured me my appliances are in stock.

    1. Lowes and Home Depot offer a 10% military discount too. I don't think you get it if the appliances are already on sale though. You should definitely check out HHGregg! I've been stalking this washer & dryer set for 4 months and this is literally the cheapest I have ever seen it!

  5. We actually looked at refrigerators yesterday. I love the one that you picked out. The drawer in the freezer is a must have for my ice cream! I started researching your refrigerator and it seemed like the perfect choice until I realized that the side is black. We are getting white cabinets and our refrigerator is going to stick out at least 6 inches, so the black side will stand out too much. We are probably going to have to go with Samsung, because the sides are grey or an LG with a stainless steel side. I really like the color of the washer and dryer that you chose. My current house has a lot of Ashley pieces. You can't go wrong with Ashley!

    1. I don't know if this changes your mind or anything but the sides of the fridge I bought are actually gray. If you look at this website, it shows a ton of pictures of it including the sides of the fridge: http://products.geappliances.com/ApplProducts/Dispatcher?REQUEST=SpecPage&Sku=PFE29PSDSS&icid=FreshFrenchNPI_shopNowHeader

    2. I also added a picture of the side of it to this post :)

  6. Awesome picks! We are going with the LG washer/dryer pair as well. Now I wish I wouldn't have purchased my fridge from Ryan Homes, yours look so much better :). I love Ashley furniture too, the nearest one to where we will live is 18 miles--which could equate to an hour drive where we are located. That will not stop me from making a trip! I'm still looking for a table and a buffet for the morning room.

  7. We just got an awesome deal this weekend at Home Depot on the same GE Profile frig with auto fill water dispenser and front load LG steam washer and dryer. Home Depot matched the lowest prices that we presented them and we took advantage of their buy more save more program they were offering last week. they basically took $600 off after matching all the lower prices we presented to them! Its an awesome frig

    1. It's a gorgeous fridge! Did you guys look at it because you saw it on my blog? What color washer and dryer did you go with?

    2. To be honest I had totally forgotten that you had purchased this fridge. I came across it last weekend on GE's website and we knew we had to have it. We picked the graphite steel washer and drier at first but then decided to go with the white ones to save a few extra dollars. I still wish that we would have done the graphite steel ones though
